01 / A smoother changeover

Give every turnover a clear finish line.

A short-term rental turnover is more than a tidy-up. It is the reset between one guest’s stay and the next: cleaning, fresh linens, agreed supplies and a final look through the property.

For an Annapolis apartment, an Eastport guesthouse or a waterfront rental in Anne Arundel County, the best starting point is a written, property-specific checklist. Share the number of beds and bathrooms, entry instructions, parking details, supply locations and the next check-in time before the visit.

Keep a few reference photos of how each room should look when it is ready. A photo of the towel arrangement or coffee station is often clearer than a long message. Decide who handles anything outside the cleaning scope, including repairs and guest communication.

The host’s five essentials: confirmed access, a realistic cleaning window, enough clean linen, stocked supplies and one person who can quickly answer questions.

02 / Save it. Use it. Make it yours.

Your Airbnb turnover cleaning checklist.

Use this as a starting checklist for your rental. Add property-specific tasks and agree on responsibilities with your cleaner. Checking a box here is a personal planning aid; it does not send a work order or confirm a service.

03 / Between checkout & check-in

Plan the window before you promise the arrival.

A four-hour booking gap does not automatically mean four hours of cleaning. Access delays, laundry cycles, parking, property condition and the final walkthrough all use that same window. Confirm the work and arrival deadline before accepting a tight changeover.

  1. Before checkoutConfirm the reservation, entry method, bed setup, supplies and any extra tasks. Give the cleaner one reliable contact for changes.
  2. At entryCheck the property’s condition first. Flag anything that changes the scope or could delay the next arrival before work gets too far underway.
  3. During the cleanFollow the room checklist. If on-site laundry is agreed, plan its cycles early and keep clean linen separate from used linen.
  4. Before guest accessLeave time for the final walkthrough, supply count and any correction. Confirm readiness through the communication method you agreed on.

Example planning window: With an 11 a.m. checkout and a 3 p.m. check-in, reserve time inside those four hours for access and a final check. The cleaning time and team size still depend on the property. This is a planning example, not a promised service duration.

For a rental with restricted parking or shared access, send those details in advance. For homes near the water, include a check of the entry floor for sand, grit or leaves. Confirm peak-weekend dates early and have a plan for a late departure.

04 / The details that prevent delays

Make linens & restocking someone’s clear responsibility.

“Laundry included” can mean very different things. Agree on the number of loads, where washing happens, who supplies detergent, whether drying fits the visit and how damaged items are reported. Do the same for supplies: placing a spare roll in the bathroom is different from shopping for replacement stock.

A useful starting point is three complete linen sets per bed: one in use, one ready and one being washed. Adjust the stock to your laundry turnaround and booking pace. Label shelves by bed size and keep spare sets together so a missing pillowcase does not hold up the reset.

05 / Keep the baseline high

A turnover maintains. A deep clean resets.

Routine turnovers focus on the next guest. A deeper visit addresses buildup that needs more time. Schedule that work deliberately instead of squeezing it into every short changeover.

Every-stay reset

  • Bathrooms and kitchen surfaces
  • Floors and accessible dusting
  • Agreed linen changeovers
  • Trash and guest supplies
  • Final presentation check

Discuss a deeper visit

  • Built-up oven or fridge residue
  • Detailed grout and shower glass
  • Baseboards and window tracks
  • Inside cabinets and neglected edges
  • A reset after an extended stay

Look for the signals: residue that a routine wipe does not remove, dusty edges, recurring odors or a property that no longer looks like its listing photos. The right frequency depends on occupancy, pets, guest use and the home’s condition—not a universal calendar rule.

What affects Airbnb cleaning costs in Annapolis?

Bedrooms are only part of the picture. A rental with several beds, multiple bathrooms and on-site laundry can take more work than a similarly sized home with a simpler setup. A useful quote starts with the actual tasks and timing.

Services can include client-supplied linen changes, light laundry, restocking and pre-arrival setup. Confirm the exact scope and availability for your property when requesting a quote.

07 / Before the next booking

Questions Annapolis hosts ask.

How long does a short-term rental turnover take?

It depends on the size, bed and bathroom count, condition, laundry and team size. Share the actual checkout-to-check-in window and task list so the work can be assessed. Keep time for access, a final check and unexpected issues.

Can Prime handle a same-day Airbnb turnover?

Same-day turnovers are available subject to scheduling and the property’s needs. Contact Prime with the address, dates, arrival deadline and cleaning scope to confirm availability before relying on the booking.

Do I need to provide sheets, towels and guest supplies?

Prime’s listed linen changeover service uses client-supplied linens. Plan clean backup sets and discuss any light laundry, towel counts and restocking with the team. Confirm who supplies consumables and whether shopping or off-site laundry is needed; do not assume those tasks are included.

Is a turnover the same as a deep cleaning?

No. A turnover prepares the rental for its next guest, while a deep clean addresses more detailed or accumulated buildup. Oven interiors, window tracks and intensive grout work should be discussed separately and allowed enough time.

Can you help with a vacation rental outside Annapolis?

What should I send for a turnover cleaning quote?

Send your location, approximate size, number of beds and bathrooms, recent photos, booking frequency and check-in deadline. Add your linen, laundry, restocking and deep-cleaning needs so the quote reflects the work you actually want.
